The first time in Ny- Ålesund, 79°N, I was in full awe. That awe never disappeared: the ever changing light and the strong seasons make each day a surprise. Yet quickly after, other feelings arose. Worries about the changing climate and the political ignorance of scientific data. Anti-reactions towards Arctic heroism. Disgust of the misplaced luxury that surrounds us. But also the intense appreciation for the tiny community I lived in. I let my work be inspired by the beauty of the vast nature and the presence of humanity in the rough and hostile Arctic.
